Preparing for Surgery

Consistently ranked among the top hospitals in the United Sates, Beaumont orthopaedic surgeons diagnose and treat the most complex orthopaedic conditions in both adult and pediatric patients. Our staff of more than 40 board-certified surgeons can treat cases in every specialty and subspecialty of orthopaedics, including minimally invasive hip and knee reconstruction, orthopaedic oncology, trauma, hand surgery, ankle/foot surgery, shoulder problems and advanced spine surgery.

You'll find that the entire orthopaedic team is dedicated to providing a compassionate and caring experience for all patients.

Preparing for Surgery

Your surgeon's office will inform you of the necessary preparations for surgery, including X-rays, pre-operative medical exams, blood tests and surgical scheduling.

Because orthopaedic surgery involves the bones and joints, you may be less mobile than normal after surgery. You may need to consider your situation and resources when planning your care. While most patients recover at home, some patients may recover best in an extended care or rehabilitation facility.
