Don's Story

For years Don Brisson, a salesman for a Ferndale printing company, blamed the pain in his back and hips on muscle stiffness or back trouble. “It got so bad that I would come home from work and just sit in a chair every night. I was only 52. This wasn’t right. Older people were getting around better than I was. Even getting in and out of cars was difficult.”

When an X-ray showed that the St. Clair Shores resident had no cartilage in his hips due to arthritis, he said it was a “slamdunk decision” to have a total hip replacement. He went back to work four weeks after surgery and planned to be back on the golf course about two months after surgery.

“Beaumont took very good care of me,” he says. “The surgery went exactly as they said it would, and the people at Beaumont all knew exactly what they were doing.”
