Basil's Story

Basil Boji raves about how great he feels after knee replacement surgeries in April and August 2008 by orthopaedic surgeon James Verner, M.D. “I’m so glad I had the surgeries,” Basil says.

“Before surgery I was in pain for several years. When I went up stairs I had to go up one step, then rest. It was awful. Now I can walk, go up and down stairs with no problem, even kneel. My legs work like they did when I was 30,” says the 63-year-old Southfield resident. 

Basil now feels so great he works several hours a day at his son’s Quiznos Sub Shop. “And I chase my five grandkids around, which I couldn’t do before,” he says with a laugh. After his success, Basil convinced his older sister to have knee replacement surgery, also done by Dr. Verner, and she is very happy with her results.
