About Beaumont Orthopedics

The Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Beaumont Hospital ranks consistently among the top orthopedic departments in the United States. It includes over 40 specialists and sub-specialists, all board-certified, and encompassing every field of orthopedics. The department includes a fully accredited residency program with 20 residents (5 per year for 5 years), approved fellowship programs in spine, sports medicine, joint reconstruction of the hip, knee, shoulder and elbow and extensive research facilities.

Beaumont, Royal Oak's South Tower Hospital is an orthopedic hospital within a full service hospital campus featuring an orthopedic unit with a dedicated physical therapy and rehabilitation unit. The orthopedic operating area consists of 16 state-of-the-art suites dedicated solely to orthopedic technology and patient safety. The Beaumont Orthopedic Center, dedicated to outpatient care, is located in Suite #742 in the adjacent Medical Office Building.

The entire orthopedic team including nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, surgical technicians, research personnel, administrative personnel and orthopedic outpatient staff are dedicated to providing a compassionate and caring experience for all our orthopedic patients.

Research

Our Orthopedic Research Department strives to perform research that will improve surgical procedures and patient outcomes. In order to achieve these improvements, our researchers work in partnership with the Orthopedic Surgery Department's attending surgeons, residents and fellows to address all subspecialties of Orthopedic Surgery including Spine, Sports Medicine, Joint Reconstruction, Trauma, Pediatrics, Extremity (Hand, Foot and Ankle) and Shoulder.
